Hi everyone
I have been very slack again with blogging and showing you another group of ladies work who have come to my Bake @ 60degrees class at The Patchwork Angel.
This group of smart ladies accomplished all the blocks in class. Robyn has made a whole quilt "Tiffany Diamonds" already and is dropping it to me tomorrow to be quilted. It should be ready for our next class, then Robyn can show the girls. We all love show and tell...
Here are their samples from class
Cat used some pretty Tilda fabrics
Maxine with William Morris Greens
Sue has the lovely William Morris fabrics also
This yellow and blue is Robyn's, this is the block for Tiffany Diamonds quilt
Pam used pinks to make the Blueberry icecream blocks
Anne come all the way from Mt Isa, and felt the cold, next class will be warmer.
Look forward to seeing the girls again shortly for the second part of the class

My wonderful Students
Last Saturday I taught the first part of my Bake At 60 Degrees class to a new group of seven ladies at The Patchwork Angel They did so well and we all had a great time, and they said they would be back next Saturday for the rest of the class, so I did not frighten them too much.
We do cover individual blocks that have a shape, either triangle, diamond or trapezoid, based on the 60 degree ruler, ending with a block that has all 3 shapes in it. Students also learn how to change the size of all these shapes to suit their need or design idea, giving them unlimited options in their quiltmaking.
Here are some of the girls getting to know each other
The class requirements for fabric are to bring about half a metre of 4 fabrics, anything will do as long as there is a difference in value. We can't help ourselves sometimes and just have to have it looking nice even for making sample blocks.
In this class I have 2 Barbs, last class, I had 3 Judy's, thanks girls for making it easy for me to get everyone names learned quickly. I wonder who will be in my next classes. The Patchwork Angel has a new class list out with dates for my classes, and other projects from talented tutors, go check it out, we would love to see you. The class list doesn't say it but the Wonky Stars class is with me. I made mine with Christmas fabrics but this quilt is great for any fabric.
I am so looking forward to seeing the girls complete the next class and go on to make some beautiful quilts.

60 degree Classes
Hello
Over the last 2 Saturdays I have taught some wonderful ladies a whole heap of blocks using the 60 degree Triangle Ruler. Classes were held at The Patchwork Angel. I haven't blogged because I was working very hard finishing off all the notes and samples. My head is clearer now and am able to think of other stuff now...
At the start of the first class I was very nervous, but once we got started we had some fun. The ladies worked very hard and I have no photos to show you of that first lesson. We learnt how to cut, piece and play with triangles and diamonds.
In the second class we covered hexagons, half hexagons, half triangles, trapezoids and wedges. I did get pictures this time, but only some.... it was a busy class again and we were having fun.
The ladies enjoyed themselves and so did I...after class I started going through the other ideas I have for classes and want to get moving with them now, no resting... Gal B actually sent me a text after class, thanking me for the ideas swimming around in her head now. Robyn M sent me an email saying she had a wonderful time also. That's what I was hoping for with my classes, the ideas and inspiration sparking in my students.. and they in turn me.
So Sew on girls, would really love to see what you make now
