Start of racing and more stitching for me in between heats. Cold but not as windy as yesterday.

We are kart racing in Warwick this weekend. Lovely old town settled sometime in the 1800's late. The sun is shining and is so warm,but step out in the blustery south westerly wind and you freeze your a**e off. Even the locals think it cold

I am all caught up with Merry Merry Snowman BOM, for the moment.

Here is block 5

Now onto the other BOM's I have.  I have 4 blocks to make for Mystery BOM from Precious Times in Toowoomba to do before class again in early August. Two of the blocks are pieced and 2 are applique.

Lovely flannel

This week I had the pleasure of quilting two flannel quilts. The pleasure can from the soft feel and the very cold wet week we have just had, when all you want to do is snuggle under a flannel quilt with a hot chocolate ( and maybe a Tim Tam or Four). The quilt with stars is for Bev's hubby and the Rail Fence Is for the daughter. Again lovely

Rainy cold day. But quilting this for Carol. Beautiful. Squares are 1" finished. Quilt size is 92" x 107".

Bom Rehab

A great week with BOM Rehab, another block completed for Merry Merry Snowman by Bunny Hill Designs.

One more block to go and then I will be all caught up. yay..  this time next week, fingers crossed.

Bom Rehab

Hello Again,

My BOM work seems to be the only stuff I get to post lately.  I am working hard on Customer quilts, at night though I get to stitch...

So this past week I have finished Block 3 of the Merry Merry Snowman quilt by Bunny Hill designs.  I am not up to date with this one at all, Block 5 arrived in the post today.

But look at where the quilt is at so far.

And here are the first three blocks actually sewn together in a ROW.

Onto the the next block.

In other news, my son is on a cruise to Cairns this week with a friend and his family.  We waved them off  yesterday.  The house is quieter and feels odd, and I don't have to feed him this week....

Back to BOM Rehab

Hello

I have had a chance to get back to my BOM Merry Merry Snowman, but alas only the embroidery completed on a previous block. But it is finished and I have started on the next.

 This is Block 2 completed ( insert little happy dance)

I also played with these. This top is finished. I will show a picture when quilted, don't hold your breathe waiting though, I have a few custom quilts to get done first.

While I was away from this blog I was making the Amy Butler Weekender bags for the family.  Well this is the one for my sister, I forget to get a pic of Mum's.  My sister loves it. yay.

I'm off to put a roast in the oven, so cold here this weekend.....

Homework is done,

I am off to Toowoomba this weekend for my classes with Sue Ross at  Precious Times shop.  This is a beautiful shop, staff and town, you must visit. Lisa has a lovely blog also with pictures to admire.

So this is part of my homework for class completed.  It was not mandatory but I certainly needed to get this quilt to this stage for myself.

I have had to applique the circles to the backgrounds, then applique all the scallops on each block.  Each block has 4 scallops and there is 9 blocks, that makes 36 I had to do.  The past couple of nights I have sewn the sashings and blocks together and got the last of it done last night.

The pictures look washed out, it is very overcast here with no chance of changing in the next few days.

The next step is applique borders, they have a vine, flowers and leaves. Yay more applique, more poor fingers.....
My other homework that will be checked up on, is not completed.

BOM Rehab

Well another week has gone by and I am still focused on my BOM's, yes plural.  Alas this week though I only got the applique completed on Block 2 of Merry Merry Snowman and not the embriodery bit.

I did spend most of my weekend sewing presents for my older sister, Chrissie and my Mum (Mother's Day shortly), but I can not show you just yet as family members may be reading this.  But also just in case I don't get them finished they will then know what their Christmas present is.

And here is a pic of my lovely Camilea, before the rain came and destroyed the flowers.  Good thing there is alot more buds to open. I am so proud of myself for not killing it, so far..
